Catholic Social Service is currently recruiting for a part-time (10 hours/week) Outreach Worker in Drayton Valley.

You will be joining an established Agency that is guided by faith to care for and bring hope to people in need with humility, compassion and respect. With more than 50 years of service delivery, Catholic Social Services is one of the largest multi-function social services agencies in Canada, with more than 1600 staff, and 2000 volunteers delivering 130+ programs through Central and Northern Alberta.

Job Summary:
As a Family Support Worker, you will provide high quality supports to children and families directly involved with Children and Youth Services. This position requires workers to work closely with families through supported family time, home visits, (including transportation of children), and some one on one with parents. Your strong facilitation skills allow you to teach parents life skills. You are self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working both independently and part of a service team. You are organized, excel in the management and have proficient computer skills.

Your main objective is to assist families dealing with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder in accessing community resources. This is made easy by your strong relationship building and leadership skills. You are passionate and dedicated to helping families reach their fullest potential by empowering parents and children to seek and foster meaningful relationships and emotional bonds.

Please note, as our programs operate 24 hours per day, shift work is required.

This position will occasionally require travel from Drayton Valley to Wetaskiwin.

Education and Qualifications:
A Diploma/Degree in Human Services or Social Work (or equivalent)
Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children and families dealing with FASD
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR
Criminal Record Check
Child Intervention Record Check
Clear and Current Drives Abstract
A vehicle and valid class 5 driver's license – requirement to transport clients in your` personal vehicle
Proof of Vehicle Insurance showing $2 million liability coverage
The salary range for this position is $17.98 to $18.48 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
