Job Summary
The 1E/AZ Delivery Driver - Atlantic is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of products along established routes. This includes operating delivery vehicles in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies, accurately recording delivery and vehicle information, and ensuring customer satisfaction through professional and reliable service.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Operations
- Deliver preloaded products to assigned store locations and/or warehouses
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule
- Unload products using appropriate equipment (e.g., dollies, lifts)
- Confirm delivery paperwork is complete and accurate before and after deliveries
- Ensure proper handling and secure transportation of all goods
Vehicle Operation & Safety
- Operate delivery vehicles safely, obeying all rules of the road
- Conduct pre-trip, on-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Report on vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage immediately
- Maintain compliance with New Brunswick Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Hours of Service regulations and company policies
- Identify and respond appropriately to unsafe driving or equipment conditions
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain accurate logs of:
- Deliveries and pick-ups
- Vehicle mileage and fuel usage
- Hours of service
- Inspection and maintenance records
- Communicate effectively with central dispatch, customers, and coworkers
- Provide feedback regarding delivery issues, customer concerns, or vehicle problems
Additional Duties
- Assist in other operational areas when required (warehouse, office, shunting vehicles, etc.)
- Complete all required end-of-shift paperwork
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Class 1E driver’s license with clean driving abstract
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Strong knowledge of safe driving practices and road regulations
- Ability to perform vehicle pre-trip inspections per provincial standards
- Computer literacy for electronic logs and documentation
- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills
- Professional and calm demeanor under pressure
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to recognize equipment defects
- Ability to identify and respond to hazardous or unsafe conditions
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to unload and move products, including placement in customer freezers
- Work may involve exposure to cold environments (down to -25°C) for short periods
- Fast-paced, time-sensitive delivery environment
- Weekend work may be required (in accordance with regulations)
- Good overall physical condition required

Compensation
At Chapman’s, compensation is guided by a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes and rewards individual contributions.
Wages
$1400 per week, based on 44-hour per week
