Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Traffic Control Person, where your role is vital in ensuring safety and smooth traffic flow around active construction sites. You will be responsible for directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, setting up and maintaining safety signage, and supporting construction crews by creating a secure work environment. Responsibilities
- Set up traffic control devices such as cones, barriers, signs, and flagging equipment to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely around construction zones
- Direct traffic flow efficiently during different phases of construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations
- Communicate clearly with construction crews, drivers, pedestrians, and site supervisors to coordinate movements and prevent accidents
- Monitor the work area continuously for hazards or unsafe conditions and report issues promptly to site management
- Assist with the installation and removal of temporary traffic control measures as needed throughout the project timeline
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including traffic flow patterns and safety inspections
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to uphold a safe working environment for everyone on site
Experience
- Previous experience in traffic control or construction environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of traffic control standards, signage, and flagging techniques is essential
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and external stakeholders
- Construction experience or familiarity with paving projects adds value to your application
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and follow safety guidelines diligently
