Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support to individuals with disabilities. The rotaiton is as follows:
Week 1: Wednesday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–10:30 a.m.
Week 2: Wednesday–Sunday, 7:00 a.m.–10:30 a.m.
This role involves working closely with clients to promote their independence and enhance their quality of life through various supportive services. This position involves a variety of shifts ranging from evenings, weekends and call in as needed. This positon is to cover shifts as needed to cover vacations, sick time, etc.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Help clients with mobility and transportation needs, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's specific needs, including those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, ensuring all areas are tidy and organized.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care is provided.
- Document client progress and any changes in behavior or health status accurately.
Requirements
- Previous experience in senior care, hospice care, assisted living, or working with persons with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of the clients.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is desirable but not mandatory at the time of hire.
