One of our clients is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician / Steamfitter to join a manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working in a steam plant environment with strong mechanical, piping, and troubleshooting skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Replace and repack valves, install blanks and gaskets, and install pipe hangers
- Troubleshoot and repair solenoid valve
- Fabricate and repair threaded piping
- Work with plastic piping and tubing
- Disconnect and reconnect piping when changing out equipment
- Perform basic pipe layouts and piping runs
- Complete basic insulation work
- Perform basic hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair control loops
- Trace and unplug stock lines
- Perform welding and oxy/acetylene torch work
- Support general maintenance activities within the facility
Required Experience & Skills
- Previous experience working in a steam plant environment is a strong asset
- Steamfitter or similar piping/steam systems experience is strongly preferred
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Experience with industrial piping systems and equipment
- Ability to work safely with welding and oxy/acetylene torches
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and control systems
- Ability to read and understand basic piping layouts
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
This position requires overtime and rotating on-call availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
Pay: $41.00-$43.00 per hour
