Our Network Infrastructure business group includes IP, optical, and network automation technologies and related services sold to our communication service provider customers as well as adjacent markets including webscale companies and enterprises. Our comprehensive wide area networking solutions enable our customers to build and operate automated, secure, and high-performance networks at massive scale – helping to interconnect people and things from any broadband access modality to – and among - edge clouds, central clouds, the Internet, and other services and data centers.The Network Automation industry is growing rapidly. The Network Automation Practice is responsible for leveraging the Network Services Platform (NSP) along with professional services to deliver business outcomes for Nokia’s customers.
NSP unifies service automation with network optimization and extends carrier SDN concepts to multi-vendor IP/optical networks allowing network operators to deliver on-demand network services faster, profitably and with high scalability. In this team you will have exposure to optical and IP network integration, network virtualization, optimization and cutting-edge industry innovation. The practice in Ottawa, Canada is looking for a passionate Network Automation Co-op!
Focus areas will be business development support for:
IP/Optical Network Enablement
Network & Service Discovery
Path Placement, Optimization and Simulation
Create content for our network automation practice including
Use case development and supporting business development globally.
Work closely with product management, marketing, services and business development teams.
Develope network automation practice supporting tools and supporting business development programs globally.
Strong interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills are required
The candidate must be able to successfully work in a team-oriented environment
Strong organization and follow up skills to track progress and drive results
Knowledge of network management concepts and basic protocols (e.g. telemetry, analytics, Netconf, and SNMP).
Knowledge in IP networking, familiar with networking concepts such as Routing Protocols (ie OSPF, BGP), DHCP, MPLS, IP VPN, VLAN, VPLS, etc.
Pursuing a degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
