Hours are set at 11pm-7am nightly
Rate of pay increases after a probationary period of 60 working shifts.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring accurate completion and timely submission of reports/information as required by head office.
- Auditing room rates, charges and reconcile and balance revenues generated as per night audit checklist.
- Carrying out cleaning of the lobby and public areas.
- Completing computer system backups and save.
- Carrying out Accounts Receivable and other accounting duties as assigned.
- Awareness of competitor activity and assist with sales related activities in terms of ascertaining, logging and tracking of information.
- Competency in the completion of month end duties in line with company policy.
- Full completion of all duties relating to the shift and a concise handover in order to assist the smooth running of the property, effective team work and guest satisfaction.
- Demonstrating a positive and proactive attitude and being committed to providing exceptional guest care through use of initiative and empowered decision making
- Ensuring that guest arrival/departure is carried out in a friendly and professional manner with all cash and credit transactions being handled in accordance with company policy.
- Answering the switchboard in a courteous and caring manner ensuring accurate recording and prompt delivery of all messages, and being responsible for the safety and security of the building
- Taking reservations and understand and apply yield management principles and selling techniques in order to maximize on Revenue Per Available Room and contribute to achieving or exceeding rooms revenue/occupancy.
- Total competence with the computer system and balance daily/accounting transactions and run reports/draw up statistical information as required by property and company policy
- THIS POSITION WILL INVOLVE MOSTLY FRIDAY/SATURDAY OVERNIGHT SHIFTS but includes the occasional potential of weekdays and holidays to cover other staffs' requests for time off
PLEASE NOTE: Because of the specific hours required for this position, public transportation may not be readily available and having your own transportation would be advantageous.
