Summary of Position
Our client, an industry leader in the design, manufacturing and service of complex technical equipment is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to join their team based out of their Kirkland office.
You will inspect products, verify processes equipment and their parameters and monitor employees’ compliance with both the company’s and regulatory policies, procedures, and specifications. The person ensures that all products leaving the facility meet our quality standards and our customer’s expectations/requirements. You will also be required to work in a clean room environment with appropriate protective garments.
Key responsibilities include:
The Quality Assurance Inspector’s responsibilities and tasks are the following:
Purchased parts and Raw Material Incoming Inspection (including data collection and recording).
Returned goods (RMAs) Incoming and Outgoing Inspection.
Reporting, sorting and segregation of non-conforming or suspect production.
Monitoring of equipment and measuring devices calibration status.
Works using key cards, written procedures, manuals, drawings and other verbal and written instructions detailing product performance criteria.
Ability to work with highly sensitive and delicate equipment to ensure all our products are tested/sorted and within specifications.
Visual inspection of products (including using microscope) to company specifications.
Ability to follow documented data collection process and store appropriate data as needed.
Putting finished product into pre-pack boxes / trays for transfer to storage
Accomplish shipping task as established by the company.
Assistance to Optical and Electronic Department as needed.
Process parameters monitoring and reporting.
Final/Outgoing Inspection of Finished goods (to stock or to customer).
Mechanical inspection of assemblies.
Serialization and custom labelling of products.
Assistance to Engineering personnel for FAI of purchased custom parts.
Assist with supplier evaluation and surveillance.
Uses automated inspection programs for 3D scanning and Radiography (X-Ray) of parts.
Participate to the development of inspection jigs and devices (including 3D printing of those).
Preparing Certificates of Compliance and any other customer requested test information.
Performs in-house calibrations on selected set of measuring devices.
Requirements:
Technician’s degree or better in a relevant discipline (Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Photonics, etc.) and at least 3 years of experience related to Quality Assurance.
Candidates must be energetic, proactive and be a team player that can take ownership of their tasks.
A high degree of concentration and close visual attention for sustained periods as well as very close attention to details.
Experience in Inspection of Electronic components such as individual devices, PCBs and PCBAs. IPC Certification (current or past) a very strong asset.
Advanced organizational skills and time management.
Communicate in English & French (spoken and written).
Extreme rigor and acute judgment.
Proactiveness in proposing solution to identified issues.
Microsoft Office skills (Word/Excel/Outlook).
ERP experience.
Metrology skills.
Assets:
Experience in an optical design, assembly or optical test laboratory.
Knowledge of micro-electronics Hybrid (chip & wire assembly, ceramics, etc.).
IPC-A-600, -610 or -620 certification(s) (past or current).
In-line inspection experience (Quality Control).
In-line test experience in a production environment.
