- This position requires a University degree or a Library Technician’s Diploma, or relevant combination of course work and experience, and a minimum of one year’s work experience in a library, preferably in an academic environment.
- Strong technical skills and experience with an Integrated Library System are essential.
- The successful candidate will have knowledge of library services, familiarity with library resources, and skills in using word processing and spreadsheet software (e.g. MS Word and Excel).
- Experience with the digitization of materials would be considered an asset.
- This position requires a focus on excellent patron service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain good working relationships in close-knit environment are vital.
- Physical stamina for lifting, moving and bending are required.
- The incumbent must have good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and switch between multiple tasks.
- Must be available to work in rotation some evenings and weekends.
