The SAP Business Analyst (TM) at Stella-Jones is responsible for analyzing, validating, and documenting the business requirements, acting as a bridge between IT and the business expert (BE), ensuring that the needs from the business are effectively communicated and translated into comprehensive requirements. Additionally, the Business Analyst will guide our BE and stakeholders through each step of the rollout project.
This is a newly added Business Analyst role at the company due to our ongoing roll out of SAP across the company and the transition to our own newly created SAP Centers of Excellence. This position offers the unique opportunity to own and manage the procurement solution, ensuring continuous process improvements, training programs, and the evolution of the module are in line with new business requirements. Our SAP portfolio runs on the latest technology, SAP S4/HANA on RISE, providing an exciting and innovative work environment. This role reports to our Director of Business Applications and is based at our corporate HQ in Montreal.
Responsibilities:Business Analysis Activities (80%) and Configuration (20%):
- Conduct business analysis activities with a focus on SAP TM module.
- Adapt to shifting context from business analysis to configuration as the rollout progresses.
Ensure Specifications Match Business Requirements:
- Translate business requirements into system specifications accurately.
Expertise in SAP S4/HANA Modules:
- Provide expertise in SAP TM Road & Rail solutions to guide implementation and optimization.
Define and Document Business Requirements and Processes:
- Participate in defining and documenting business requirements and processes aligned with SAP best practices.
Design Procedures and Processes:
- Design procedures and processes based on SAP best practices to streamline operations.
Analyze and Develop Recommendations for New Projects:
- Analyze new projects and internal client requests, providing recommendations for effective solutions.
Define Security Profiles:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define security profiles required for task performance.
Optimize and Integrate Solutions:
- Ensure optimization and seamless integration of solutions with other streams and functions.
System Configuration and Documentation:
- Analyze system user requirements and document system configuration, enhancements, and modifications.
Support and Maintenance Responsibilities:
- Provide support and maintenance for non-SAP applications/systems as needed.
Enforce IT Software Standards and Procedures:
- Participate in creating and enforcing IT software standards, operating procedures and policies.
Collaborate with AMS Teams for Continuous Improvement:
- Work with Application Management Services (AMS) teams and partners to contribute to continuous improvement and maintenance activities.
Resolving incident escalations:
- Participate in the escalation of incidents analyzed by levels 1 and 2 of user support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Option IT or a similar diploma
- 5+ years of related experience
- Proficient speaking and writing English;
- Deep understanding of SAP S4/HANA modules, business analysis techniques, and system configuration.
- Ability to analyze business requirements, system functionalities, and propose effective solutions.
- Clear and concise communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and document processes.
- Experience in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address complex issues and optimize system performance.
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams, AMS partners, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in system configurations and documentation.
- Willingness to stay updated with SAP advancements and industry best practices.
