Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Contract / Construction Administrator to support the successful delivery of construction projects from procurement through to close-out. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of contract administration, construction processes, and project coordination.
Duties
- Administer construction contracts in accordance with project requirements and industry standards
- Review, interpret, and manage contract documents, drawings, and specifications
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal project teams
- Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
- Process and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress claims
- Assist in tendering, bid evaluation, and contract award processes
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records
- Support project managers during construction and close-out phases
Skills
- Post-secondary education in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong project coordination skills, including scheduling, tracking actions, and supporting project teams across multiple concurrent projects.
- Demonstrated experience with construction administration services, including contract interpretation, site review, field reports, RFIs, and change management.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for liaising with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal team members.
- Proficiency in managing submittals, shop drawings, and related construction documentation with attention to detail and adherence to timelines.
- Experience with project management practices, including risk identification, documentation control, and progress reporting.
- Familiarity with building codes, construction methods, and architectural/engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with standard office and construction administration software (e.g., MS Office, PDF mark-up tools; experience with construction management platforms is an asset).
- Ability to work on-site, prioritize tasks under deadlines, and maintain a professional, collaborative approach with all project stakeholders.
Pay: $43,405.03-$50,000.00 per year
