The ideal candidate will walk dogs and visit cats in their home, feeding them, brushing them, cleaning the litter, and watering plants. If the need arises, s/he may perform other general chores (delivering flyers, etc.)

This is a fun job with a lot of responsibility. It is by no means an easy job. There are weather conditions to brave, difficult animals to negotiate with, traffic jams to get through, sticky locks to deal with, slippery sidewalks, and specific details to remember. We love it because we are always outdoors, we get to know many neighborhoods, we meet interesting people, and of course we learn so much about all the different dogs and cats in the city. We get a lot of pleasure from helping people take care of their beloved pets, but this is not a job for everyone. We urge all interested individuals to think carefully about the less glamorous components of this job before filling out an application.

To qualify you must:

- Be a reliable, dependable adult

- Able to be bonded (no criminal record)

- Have a cell phone

- Have a driver’s license
