Client Finance Analyst

Working as a member of the Finance Team the Client Finance Analyst (CFA) is responsible for the overall financial administration for our clients, their commercial agreement, audits and assistance with month-end and budgeting/forecasting. The CFA is a pivotal role within the finance function not only because of the critical impact it has on operations but also as a key interface between Client finance and the business at large, involving interaction with colleagues across the business.

The CFA will be responsible for minimizing unbilled, unpaid and work in progress (WIP) position, as well as adherence to contract terms and conditions, WPP policies, SOX and statutory compliance for a portfolio of Clients. Task of forecasting a company's financials requires both an understanding of historical performance as well as key assumptions and trends that may impact future outcomes. The CFA will report directly to the Manager of Financial Planning of Catalyst Canada.

Key Accountabilities:
Client Financial Administration

Supervising the billing process and ensuring BCRs are maintained and approved.
Act as a point of contact for all aspects of client finance management for all applicable stakeholders
Have a complete understanding of client billing requirements and contract requirements.
Work with Media & Shared Financial Services to ensure timely balancing (less than 90 days) of all estimates and jobs.
Month End and Forecasting

Prepare journals to clear accounts at month end
Conduct variance analysis
Prepare monthly revenue accruals
Assist in revenue forecasting and budgeting

Ensure compliance with SOX and policies across all accounts.
Manage internal, external and client audits to a successful audit outcome.
Ensure contract summaries are up to date and the team are fully aware of key contractual terms.
Ensure any client reporting requirements (time reconciliations, PO status etc.) are adhered to in a timely manner.
Ad Hoc

Continually look to enhance current processes to provide greater efficiencies especially new Media Ocean features.
Other as required.

Skills and Behaviour:
Constant desire and demonstrated ability to improve processes
Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced level of Excel required
Ability to work with a team and independently
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exposure to Business intelligence technologies and ETL processes (Extract-Transform-Load) would be nice to have.
Education and Experience

University degree, relevant college certificate or relevant work experience
1-year experience in accounting or billing
