A little about our Executive Office
The Communications & Outreach officer is a member of the Executive Office team reporting to the Executive Director. This role will work closely with the Executive Director and the Senior Leadership Team. The Executive Office is responsible for ensuring that Mothercraft complies with all statutes governing its operations and pursues opportunities that align with the organization's Strategic Plan and Mission, Vision, and Values.
Job summary
As our newest Communications & Outreach Officer, you will lead, develop, and implement communication and outreach strategies for Mothercraft's direct service programs. You will bring a communication lens to ensure messages are clear and ensure all materials and resources adhere to Mothercraft's standards. You will also work with the senior staff and support direct service programs to develop, lead, and implement outreach strategies to increase the number of service users participating and engaging in Mothercraft's programs. As the Communications & Outreach Officer, you will...
- Report to the Executive Director

Lead, write, and edit content for staff bulletins and other employee communication channels

Provide leaders with communications support by developing briefing materials, presentations, and speaking remarks for projects and events.

Organize, lead, and prepare Mothercraft's Annual reports.

Create and curate communication for service users and external stakeholders

Develop and implement outreach plans to increase service user participation and engagement in Mothercraft's services.

Collaborate with the Executive Director, Senior Leadership team, and management to identify, plan, and facilitate outreach activities, including conducting presentations, dissemination of information, and participating in community events, etc.

Create and develop promotional communication materials and resources for all programs independently or alongside a third-party graphic designer.

Develop and assist in creating and implementing communication and brand standards.

Develop and maintain organizational systems to store and organize all communication materials and resources.
You will be set up for success if you have…
- A Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field or related work experience

A minimum of four (4) years of experience in community service organizations
-
Five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience at a senior administrative level in an office environment

Experience in the not-for-profit/charity sector, ideally within a community, social services or healthcare field

Experience with corporate communications, public relations, and community involvement

Satisfactory vulnerable sector police reference check
