Le Beau is a fast-growing French bakery in Toronto downtown. We are currently looking for a Second Cook, Pastry who will help us to create our iconic croissants and other baking items for our customers.
This is a permanent, full time position with the following schedule Wed-Thru-Fri- Sat -Sun. Candidate must have full availability and will be required to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays. More hours will be available as per request.
As we are growing fast there will many opportunities to grow with us. All our current managers are in house trained and promoted. We pride ourselves on product innovation, being a benchmark in the industry, and friendly working environment.
Main responsibilities:
· Follow recipes accurately and measure and weigh ingredients precisely for all production items.
· Prepare fillings, creams and other components for all baked goods.
· Assemble a variety of baked goods, including sandwiches and laminated dough items .
· Bake different types of cookies and participate in the chocolate items line production, following established recipes and standards.
· Assist with bake a range of baking items at the correct temperatures to ensure proper texture, flavor, and appearance.
· Decorate and present baked goods in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
· Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and taste standards.
· Manage inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, ensuring proper storage and rotation.
· Keep the baking station and work areas clean and organized, adhering to safety and sanitation procedures.
· Operate and maintain bakery equipment and tools, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition.
· Work closely with other kitchen staff to meet production demands and ensure smooth operations.
· Prepare special orders or large batches for events or wholesale customers as needed.
· Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients, including accurate measurement and weighing to maintain recipe integrity.
Requirements:
- Must have at minimum of 2-years of experience working as a pastry cook, baker or related field.
- Must have demonstrated experience in regard to baking pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, sweets and pies.
- College diploma or certification in baking and pastry arts and/or Red Seal or equivalent certification is considered to be an asset.
- Must be a team player and have the proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-pace environment.
- Able to lift up to 25KG of equipment and ingredients.
- Good to have relevant experience related to French pastry making.
