Snow & Ice Management Technician

$20.00/hr - $25.00/hr
We are searching for a talented and dedicated snow & ice tech to join our team. You will perform a range of maintenance and winter related duties from shoveling, salting, plowing, quality control checks, and equipment maintenance.
As a snow and ice tech, you will ensure the safety of sites across the Durham region. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with physical labour, long hours with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
Summer positions available when winter is complete in hardscaping, grounds maintenance, turf care, and office assistant.
Responsibilities:
- Be available 24/7 through winter months
- Monitor weather on a daily basis
- Drive crews from site to site
- Clear snow & ice from walkways
- Clear snow & ice from lots
- Apply de-icing materials to walkways
- Apply de-icing materials to lots
- Maintain vehicles and equipment
- Perform quality control checks
Requirements:
- Experience in a landscaping or groundskeeping role an asset, but will train
- Should be able to operate maintenance equipment including snow blowers, snow plows, material spreaders, skid steers, and agricultural tractors, but will train.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and experience with hydraulics
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Good stamina and physical health
- Familiarity with standard transmissions an asset
