Day in the Life:
The Manager of Logistics Services is responsible for spearheading The Bay’s marketplace shipping & fulfillment services and other strategic initiatives like same-day / next-day delivery. You will work with Supply Chain, Logistics & Distribution teams to build world-class logistics capabilities. You will work with our Marketplace Business Development team to onboard new marketplace vendors and provide competitive solutions that enable exponential growth. You will drive and improve processes to serve the marketplace through the identification of critical gaps and development of solutions to ensure the timely delivery of our products to our customers. You are resonsibile for managing a network of carriers that service the transportation of goods from our eCommerce distribution centers, stores, micro fulfillment centers and direct from vendors to our customers. The volume, spend and competition in this area has been growing at a rapid pace and the landscape for how packages are delivered to end customers is continuously changing. This role will play a pivotal role in planning, implementing, and controlling the efficient flow of goods and related information between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations. This role is key in developing internal and external relationships in the pursuit of operational excellence within financial tolerances set forth by executive leadership.
What You Will Do:
Build & grow The Bay’s marketplace shipping & fulfillment offering to deliver best-in-class service
Develop marketplace/dropship vendor partnerships and promote The Bay’s services
Oversee same-day / next-day delivery product and roll-out across Canada
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for business reviews for executive team
Serve as a point of escalation for all matters regarding Marketplace movement of goods
Manage carrier relationships in order to maximize their services and commitments
Key stakeholder in leadership initiatives and projects such as Voice of Customer & Sustainability
Mitigate the risks associated with our operations, minimizing potential disruption to the business
Key stakeholder for contract procurement, renewals and negotiations with responsibility of knowing terms, customer needs and market pricing for services
Be a subject matter expert in terms of shipping nuances and trends
Manage day-to-day function of the department in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an exceptional employee experience
What You Will Need:
Four year degree preferably within supply chain or business focus
Proven experience in supply chain operations or omni channel fulfillment and a passion for operations
Deep knowledge of parcel logistics & crossborder logistics
Self-starter/ability to work efficiently both in groups and independently
Flexibility/ability to work in ambiguous environment
Strong data analytics skills, including experience working with Business Intelligence (BI) and manual reporting tools
Technical understanding of how Warehouse Management systems (WMS) interact with carriers’ transportation system
The skills to set clear objectives and inspire yourself and others to reach their full capability and maximize their capacity
