Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Gardener to lead our landscape and horticulture team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of garden maintenance, ensuring the health and beauty of our outdoor spaces. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of gardening practices, and proficiency with various tools . The Head Gardener will play a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and sustainability of our landscapes.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate landscape maintenance activities, including planting, pruning, mowing, and fertilizing.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to perform routine gardening tasks efficiently and safely.
- Lead gardening projects, including planting seasonal flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Train and mentor team members on best practices in horticulture and landscape care.
- Conduct regular inspections to assess plant health and identify pest or disease issues.
- Develop maintenance schedules to ensure consistent landscape appearance and health.
- Manage inventory of gardening supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations during all activities.
Experience
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture roles.
- Strong knowledge of plant care, pruning techniques, soil management, and pest control.
- Experience working with hand tools and power tools used in landscaping projects.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience is preferred but not mandatory; leadership qualities are highly valued.
