Carpenter/ Foreman
Job Description
Tasu Construction is looking for experienced carpenters for the construction of modular projects. This is a hands-on position that requires mature and responsible personnel. The ideal candidate is also able to take on the role of the Foreman.
The position will start with a project in Abbotsford, BC. Successful candidates could join our team on a permanent basis for future projects which will require travel to remote and regional locations across British Columbia, with rotation to be negotiated, based on point of hire and project specific needs.
Responsibilities

Daily responsibilities will vary and will include different carpentry and labour tasks for the construction of camp and modular facilities, foundation to finish.

Fitting and installing trim, doors, stairs, moulding and hardware.

Repairing and renovating modular buildings.

Building stairs, decks, landings and covered entrances.

Rigging and building setting on foundations with trucks and/or cranes.

Load and unload materials and move materials to designated work areas.

Constant attention to safety around the site and ability to abide by all safety rules & procedures.

Notify supervisor when supplies are needed.

Maintain communication with supervisor.
Qualifications

Strong work ethic and punctuality.

Minimum 5+ years of related carpentry or construction experience. Camp or modular construction experience is an asset.

Experience and/or willingness to take on foreman responsibilities when needed is considered a bonus.

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.

Ability to follow direction and a team player able to provide support, motivation and encouragement to others.

Superior organization and time management skills.

Strong decision making and delegation skills.

Completion of basic First Aid, Fall Arrest, or Health and Safety Training preferred.

Previous experience operating light equipment is an asset.

Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to perform heavy manual outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Proving own hand tools is a bonus but not a requirement, specifically sawzall, skill saw, chop saw, table saw, radial arm saw, drills, drill press and air tools.

Organization, cleanliness and a professional attitude are a must.

Red Seal ticket or Apprentice carpenters preferred.
Wage: based on experience
