Accounts Receivable Clerk

Taylor McCaffrey LLP, we are seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven
Accounts Receivable Clerk to join their Finance team. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this role plays a key part in the firm’s financial operations by ensuring the timely and accurate processing of client payments.
The Accounts Receivable Clerk works closely with internal team members and clients to maintain accurate financial records, resolve discrepancies, and support overall AR functions. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, professionalism, and a commitment to exceptional service in every interaction.
As the Accounts Receivable Clerk, you will:
- Process and accurately apply client payments received through various formats.
- Record, reconcile, and verify payment information within the accounting system.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with accounting team members to maintain precise and up-to-date financial records.
- Serve as backup to the Collections Clerk, including preparing follow-up correspondence and making professional calls regarding past-due accounts.
- Provide responsive and courteous service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
You and Your Experience:
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance-related role is considered an asset.
- Law firm accounting experience is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Professional communication skills and ability to interact tactfully with individuals at all levels, both in person and over the phone.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles is considered an asset.
