We are looking for a enthusiastic and reliable Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team and help support our clinicians in delivering excellent hands-on care and exercise programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Exercise Supervision: Guide and assist patients through their prescribed exercise programs, ensuring proper form, technique, and safety under the direction of the Supervising Physiotherapist.
- Modalities Setup: Prepare and apply passive therapeutic modalities such as heat/ice, TENS, ultrasound, or traction as directed by the treating clinician.
- Patient Support & Flow: Help keep patient appointments running on schedule, assist patients in moving between treatment areas, and maintain a welcoming clinical atmosphere.
- App & Exercise Guidance: Walk patients through their digital home-exercise programs on clinic apps to ensure they feel confident carrying out their routines at home.
- Treatment Area Maintenance: Ensure treatment rooms, gym equipment, and therapeutic devices are sanitized, organized, and stocked between patient sessions.
- Clinical Communication: Observe patient responses during sessions and communicate any notable changes or feedback directly to the treating Physiotherapist.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Formal diploma or degree from an accredited Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) or OTA/PTA program (or equivalent education in Kinesiology / Health Sciences).
- Strong understanding of basic human anatomy, exercise principles, and rehabilitation concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a warm, empathetic, and encouraging patient-facing demeanor.
- Strong organizational habits with the ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced clinic setting.
- Prior experience in a private orthopedic or multidisciplinary clinic is an asset, but enthusiastic recent graduates are welcome to apply.
