On behalf of our healthcare client, Procom is searching for a Network Security Consultant for a 7 month contract with potential extensions. This position is a hybrid position with the ability to work remotely, but regular work from our client’s Regina, Saskatchewan office is considered an asset.
Network Security Consultant - Job Description:
Our public sector client in Saskatchewan is seeking a Network Security Consultant to join their Information Security Operations Team. The role involves governance, architecture, and oversight of enterprise network security controls across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments, focusing on Cisco-based security platforms and aligning with enterprise standards and zero trust principles.
Network Security Consultant - Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise network security controls across Cisco security platforms
- Provide governance oversight and security expertise for remote access solutions
- Act as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting and triaging network security incidents
- Perform continuous review and tuning of IPS/IDS signatures and firewall rules
- Participate in Architecture Review Board meetings as the designated Network Security representative
- Evaluate proposed network and application architectures for security alignment
- Design and secure hybrid environments integrating on-premises datacenter infrastructure with Azure cloud services
Network Security Consultant - Mandatory Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible IT experience, with 8 years in network security
- Hold at least one active professional-level or expert-level certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP)
- Expertise in Cisco Firepower Threat Defense, FMC, and other Cisco security platforms
- Strong understanding of network security architecture, design, and governance
- Experience in network traffic analysis and threat detection
- Solid foundational knowledge of networking concepts including routing and switching
- Ability to travel within Saskatchewan as required
Network Security Consultant – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field
- Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms
- Experience with cloud security models, particularly within Microsoft Azure environments
- Understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
