Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our restaurant team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive restaurant experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Experience wrapping food from previous restaurants or experience with POS systems are highly valued. The Cashier will play a key role in ensuring smooth store operations and fostering customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases
- Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions
- Handle cash, credit, and digital payments with precision
- Maintain organized cash register area and ensure proper cash handling procedures
- Upsell products and promote ongoing promotions or special offers
- Provide product information and demos when applicable, especially for technology or merchandise items
- Answer customer inquiries courteously via phone or in person
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to minimize wait times
- Support merchandising efforts by restocking shelves and organizing displays as needed
- Ensure compliance with store policies and safety procedures
Experience
- Prior experience in Carribean restaurants, cashiering, or customer service is highly preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is advantageous
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and change calculations
- Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities
