Summary
Ground Effects is currently searching for a Quality Manager to support our team in Windsor, Ontario. The Quality Manager oversees the quality processes at the manufacturing plants to ensure a quality product to our customers. To ensure solid APQP/PPAP/launch processes and activities are conducted. To oversee and ensure processes and procedures are implemented and enforced at the responsible plants.
Responsibilities
- Supporting Quality Engineers at all GFX Manufacturing plants.
- Ensure quality processes and procedures are implemented and enforced.
- Aid in the training and development of plant Quality Engineers on all aspects of their jobs
- Provide training and guidance on quality processes and procedures.
- Ensure solid problem solving and actions to prevent reoccurrences at the plants
- Ensure that plant measurables are accurate and available
- Ensure customer expectations are being met (voice of customer) in all areas
- Supporting APQP and Launch activities at all GFX Manufacturing plants.
- Ensure that compliant PPAP activities are conducted at all plants.
- Meet customer PPAP timing expectations
- Ensure all launch readiness activities are conducted and complete
- Ensure all customer expectations are met
- Supporting customer and continuous improvement activities at all plants
- Ensure procedures and work instructions are sufficient, suggesting changes as required to improve plant quality
- Understand customer expectations and how to implement changes
- Audit processes to ensure compliance and look for opportunities for improvements
- Analyze system data to identify trends and present areas of improvement
- Work in compliance with any government and site policies. Report unsafe acts or unsafe conditions
- Report all workplace incidents/accidents to your manager.
- Use and wear protective clothing, equipment or devices issued for protection and ensure that they are properly maintained. Set example for plants
- Notify Supervision if any protective material, equipment, or device is missing or not functioning properly.
- Qualifications
- Education
- Minimum Required: Grade 12 completion or equivalent
Experience
Minimum Required:
- Previous experience as Quality Engineer
- Previous experience managing/supervising people
Preferred:
- 3-5 years as QE
- Quality Background in a painting &/or assembly environment as an OEM supplier
- IATF internal or Lead Auditor certification
- Preferred: College or University Graduate
- Job Specific Skills
Minimum Required:
- Must have extensive knowledge of IATF- 16949 requirements including experience with documentation and implementation.
- Must have knowledge of and experience with all core tools (APQP process including PPAP, FMEA and Control Plan, MSA, SPC)
- Must have blueprint reading skills
- Must have strong computer skills.
- Must be knowledgeable in customer specific requirements.
- Must have experience in dealing with customers and suppliers in matters relating to product quality
- Must be team oriented.
- Must have and maintain an appropriate and valid Ontario Driver's license.
- Must have and maintain legal access/entry to the United States.
The following working conditions are present or expected on a daily basis:
- Travel may be required
- Ability to conduct presentations.
Normal office environment; manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.

Pay: $85,000.00-$106,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
