Job Description

Position: Scientific Writer (Full-Time)

Location: Kitchener, Ontario

Experience: 2+ years but all levels will be considered

Education: College Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in science, biotechnology, lifesciences, chemistry, materials science, or related fields required.

About the Job:
Are you passionate about science and creative writing? We’re looking for a Scientific Writer to inspire the world’s most innovative researchers by writing creative, emotionally engaging and technically valuable content. You will directly impact our inbound marketing strategies, while helping scientists get the valuable information they need to accelerate their research.

What You’ll Do:
Champion the company’s brand identity and voice across all channels. Ensure that content across all departments is on-brand and consistent in terms of style, tone of voice and quality

Collaborate with the strategic marketing team to create campaigns that will increase lead generation, website traffic, engagement and customer retention. This includes writing content for blog posts, email campaigns, application notes, case studies, webinars, social media, press releases and paid ads.

Translate technical/scientific concepts into engaging content that is targeted to helping researchers in academia or industry segments.

Implement Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices in your writing to increase lead generation

What You’ll Need:
Formal training in science, biotechnology, lifesciences, chemistry, materials science, or related fields

A strong passion for scientific research. You keep up-to-date with the latest scientific research, methods, and tools

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You’re able to communicate technical scientific concepts in a creative, concise and engaging way.

Experience in copywriting and public relations. You’re able to write for a targeted audience while bringing our brand voice to life.

Empathy. You understand scientific researchers, including their pain points and motivation factors. You speak their language and want to use your creative writing skills to help them succeed.

Problem solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset. When something isn’t working, you know when to move on and learn quickly. You embrace change in a rapidly evolving environment

Excellent project management skills. You’re able to work independently and manage projects with many moving parts. You want to work for a small team in a fast-paced environment
