About the Opportunity
Vorollo is recruiting on behalf of a confidential, well-established seafood processing company with a long-standing reputation for quality, operational excellence, and customer service.
We're seeking an experienced Production Lead Hand to join a growing manufacturing operation and play a key leadership role on the production floor.
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you'll lead daily production activities while working alongside your team to ensure products are processed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
This is approximately an 80% hands-on production leadership role and 20% administrative responsibility. You'll spend the majority of your day on the production floor - coaching employees, solving problems, maintaining production flow, and leading by example.
This is not a desk job.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily production activities within a busy seafood processing facility.
- Work alongside production employees while providing leadership, coaching, and support.
- Lead by example while remaining actively involved on the production floor.
- Coordinate workflow to maximize production efficiency.
- Assist with labour planning and production scheduling.
- Ensure production targets and customer specifications are consistently achieved.
- Monitor product quality throughout the production process.
- Train, mentor, and support production employees.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and a positive production culture.
- Identify production challenges and implement practical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, CFIA, sanitation, and food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
- Assist with inventory movement and operational support as required.
- Complete production documentation and reporting.
- Perform additional duties as required.
QualificationsRequired
- Previous experience within a seafood processing or seafood manufacturing environment.
- Previous leadership experience as a Lead Hand, Team Lead, Production Supervisor, or informal production leader.
- Strong understanding of seafood production operations.
- Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to work alongside the team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in refrigerated production environments.
- Physically capable of performing production-related duties throughout the shift.
Preferred
- Experience with production scheduling or labour planning.
- Forklift certification or previous forklift experience.
- HACCP, GMP, and CFIA knowledge.
- Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing experience is considered an asset.
