About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to become the primary accounting support for our growing business.
This position is ideal for an experienced bookkeeper or accounting professional with who enjoys taking ownership of the day-to-day accounting functions within a fast-paced distribution business. You will work closely with management while overseeing the daily Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, collections, and financial administration. There is an existing junior bookkeeper that will also assist with back data entry and day to day tasks.

Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Process vendor invoices, customer payments, and supplier payments
- Prepare and issue customer invoices
- Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding receivables
- Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Coordinate with project managers, purchasing, and management regarding invoicing and job costing
- Prepare reports and financial information for management as required
- Support payroll administration when necessary
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Must have excellent communication and problem solving abilities
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Experience with QuickBooks is an asset
- Experience with Odoo ERP is an asset
- Experience in construction, manufacturing, distribution, or project-based businesses is considered an asset
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
