Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Law Clerk to join our family law team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to our lawyers by performing various legal and administrative tasks, including:
- Drafting legal documents, such as briefs, motions, and pleadings.
- Managing client onboarding and interactions.
- Providing administrative support, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and managing correspondence.
- Overseeing case-related projects, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are effectively prioritized.
- Assisting with trial preparation, including compiling evidence and preparing exhibits.
- Managing client files and ensuring all documents are organized and accessible.
- Serving and filing legal documents as required.
- Acting as a liaison between the firm and key stakeholders, such as witnesses, courthouses, opposing counsel, and clients.
This role is crucial in maintaining our firm's efficiency and ensuring that all legal documentation is accurate and well-organized.
Experience & Skills
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex legal concepts.
- Excellent proofreading abilities to maintain high-quality documentation.
- Proven experience with project management principles, enabling you to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
- Exceptional organizational skills, especially in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Proficiency in administrative tasks, including clerical duties that support daily operations.
- Familiarity with legal drafting standards is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of family law practice directions and relevant rules is an asset.
