Main focus - Log Home Restoration: Sandblasting and staining of interior and exterior siding/logs.
Duties/Requirements:
-Equipment Operation: Set up, operate, and adjust blasters, hoses and nozzles on blast pots and airless sprayers.
-Maintenance: Clean and maintain machinery to ensure proper function and safety.
-Quality Control: Inspect finished surfaces to confirm they meet texture and smoothness standards.
-Safety Compliance: Wear proper protective gear, such as a blast hood and follow strict ventilation and safety protocols.
-Physical Stamina: High level of fitness to stand, bend, and hold heavy hoses for long hours.
-Prep sites and clean up once completed: masking, scaffold setup, taping, fixture removal etc
-Sandblast to remove old stain from wood surfaces and open pores.
-Staining application, multiple coats, through airless sprayer.
-Excellent attention to detail.
-Willing to travel from Peterborough to surrounding areas (approx 1-3 hours depending on job location) reliable transportation to job sites, Class G drivers license, mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use available.
-Willing to stay overnight when necessary, accommodation and meals provided.
-Reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
-Ability to work long days when weather permits and as necessary.
-Leadership skills to lead blasting/staining crew
-Working on elevated platforms, scaffolding and ladders. Elevated work platform training certificate an asset.
-Ability to use power tools. Construction knowledge an asset.
-Maintain a clean and tidy job site at all times.
Education: High school diploma, post secondary in Carpentry or similar as asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
