About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, certified Pilot Car (Escort Vehicle) Driver to support our oversize and specialty load operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in the trucking and transportation industry, with a strong understanding of oversize load movements, safety requirements, and transportation regulations CAD and US.
As a Pilot Car Driver, you will support oversize load movements, ensure safe transport, communicate with drivers and clients, and maintain accurate documentation. This role involves travel, and you must be comfortable being on the road for extended periods and spending time away from home.
What We’re Looking For
- Current Pilot Car / Escort Vehicle certification.
- Previous experience escorting oversize or specialty loads.
- Familiarity with the trucking industry, oversize loads, permits, routes, and industry terminology.
- Knowledge of safety, compliance, and transportation regulations.
- Competency with office software and electronic documentation.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules, routes, and job requirements.
- Comfortable with frequent travel and extended periods away from home.
- Professional, reliable, and safety-focused.
Responsibilities
- Escort oversize and specialty loads safely and in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain clear communication with truck drivers, dispatch, clients, and other pilot vehicles.
- Operate a company or approved escort vehicle equipped to required safety standards.
- Review routes, permits, and movement requirements prior to departure.
- Complete logs, reports, maps, and other required documentation accurately.
- Follow all applicable provincial and state oversize-movement requirements and safety practices.
- Assist with general transportation or administrative duties as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
