The Skilled Trades College (STC) is Ontario's premier construction training institution. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Plumbing Pre-Apprenticeship Instructor to join our team for casual employment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to educating students in a classroom setting, fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students. Ideal candidates will have a valid Certificate of Qualification.
This position involves providing classroom coverage at multiple school locations within our organization around the GTA, depending on staffing needs and substitute availability.
Responsibilities
- Deliver STC lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
- Educate students on various subjects, ensuring comprehension and retention of material.
- Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and evaluations, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain classroom discipline and manage student behavior effectively.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional strategies and share best practices.
- Stay updated on educational trends and incorporate innovative teaching techniques into the curriculum.
Requirements
- Valid Plumbing Certificate of Qualification (306A and/or 307A)
- Previous teaching experience in a classroom setting is an asset
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to engage students and foster a love for learning
- Proficient in using educational technology and tools to enhance instruction
- A commitment to professional development and continuous learning in the field of education

Hourly salary: $35-$40/hour
Location: various campuses across the Ontario (Vaughan, Toronto, North York, Oakville, Cambridge, Ajax)
