Job Description

BEworks is seeking a Data Analyst who subscribes to the vision of the importance of scientific thinking and is keen to apply it to real-world challenges. In this position, you play a key role in the planning and delivery of the BEworks Method, which is a fusion of the scientific method with management consulting. As a Data Analyst, you are detail-oriented, meticulous, and an analytical team player. You ask the right questions, effectively communicate across teams, and want an opportunity to help shape what data can offer to our clients.

Main Responsibilities:
CONDUCT RIGOROUS SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH by…

Gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing existing scientific research, including insights drawn from BEworks’ proprietary IP database as well as the scientific literature

Critically evaluating existing literature to identify how the research can be applied to client contexts, as well as identifying any research gaps (i.e., what has not been studied before based on psychological concepts or behavioral economic theory)

SUPPORT MANAGEMENT CONSULTING PROJECTS by…

Evaluating client data, uncovering client assumptions, and understanding their knowledge, intuition, and priors; auditing their experimental capability

Supporting the design and execution of both large and small scale randomized control experiments

CONDUCT STATISTICAL ANALYSIS by…

Cleaning and sorting raw data for analysis

Assisting with conducting statistical analyses

Interpreting and translating results from experiment outputs

Investigating and learning new analytic methods that can be applied to experimental data

COMMUNICATE OUR INSIGHTS by…

Writing and communicating scientific ideas and summarizing experiments in a clear and accessible way

Preparing business proposals to emphasize scientific experimentation and the importance of behavioral economics

HELP US SOLVE PROBLEMS by…

Participating in group sessions where we tackle business challenges using behavioral economics tactics

Qualifications

A masters degree in any applied quantitative discipline (preference for candidates with knowledge in psychology (preferably social, cognitive, or consumer), marketing (consumer behavior focus), judgment and decision making, or economics

Strong background in statistical analysis and experiment design with the ability to handle and clean large datasets

Candidate must be able to demonstrate proficiency in R programming (proficiency in other languages i.e. Python, SPSS, etc. are beneficial but not strictly required)

Ability to create data visualizations

Ability to meaningfully interpret analyses to a business audience is a must

Demonstrated ability to interpret data from both RCT and quasi-experimental trials

Demonstrated ability to work with complex econometric models
