Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Arborist / Climber & Grounds Care Specialist to join our established landscape and tree care business. This role involves working safely at heights, maintaining and caring for trees and landscapes, and supporting our commitment to high-quality grounds maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture, tree health, and landscape aesthetics, with a focus on safety and professionalism.
Duties
- Perform tree pruning, trimming, and removal using climbing techniques and rigging equipment
- Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment safely for elevated work
- Conduct landscape maintenance tasks including planting, mulching, edging, and lawn care
- Assist with tree health assessments and apply horticultural treatments as needed
- Use GIS tools for mapping and planning landscape projects
- Maintain clean work sites and ensure all safety protocols are followed during operations
- Support grounds care by managing debris removal, irrigation systems, and general landscape upkeep
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards
Skills
- Proficiency in rigging techniques for safe tree climbing and removal operations
- Experience operating bucket trucks and aerial lifts such as bucket trucks or cherry pickers
- Knowledge of horticulture principles, landscape maintenance practices, and plant health care
- Familiarity with GIS technology for mapping or project planning is a plus
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to arboriculture and grounds care
- Ability to work at heights confidently while maintaining safety standards
- Physical fitness to perform demanding outdoor tasks in various weather conditions
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with the ability to work independently when necessary
