Position Overview

As a Wealth Management Associate with The Wong Group, you will play a critical role in supporting our portfolio managers and ensuring the seamless execution of day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for handling data, opening client accounts, managing transfers, building spreadsheets, providing administrative support and maintaining the confidentiality of client information, all while embodying a positive and trustworthy presence within our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Data management: Accurately handle and manage financial data in multiple systems, ensuring precision in all tasks.
- Process a variety of client account activities: efficiently convert RRSP to RRIF accounts, set up RRIF payments, estates, beneficiary updates, transfer securities in from other institutions, issuing cheques, deposits, contributions and withdrawals, incoming and outgoing transfers.
- Spreadsheet creation and management: Develop and maintain detailed spreadsheets for financial analysis, reporting, and client presentations.
- Confidentiality: Safeguard all client information with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.
- Administrative support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the team, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and to the highest standard.
- Team collaboration: Work closely with portfolio managers and other team members, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Client service: Assist in delivering exceptional service to clients, addressing their needs with professionalism and care
Additional Responsibilities
- Committing to rigorous follow-up relating to all client transactions to ensure proper processing and minimization of errors.
- Order and Trade Execution: Support portfolio managers by executing orders and managing transfers efficiently and in compliance with regulations.
- Assisting the Advisor and Wealth Planner with life insurance applications and annual payment administration.
- Acting as a general resource person for clients (ex: transferring funds, preparing reports and tax slips).
- Act as a liaison between the client and their professional accountants by providing timely and accurate tax reporting and supplementary reports.
- Having a strong understanding of the firm’s procedures and policies, understanding compliance and keeping within industry standards.
- Maintaining client files, ensuring that all documentation and notes are compliant with industry regulations.
- Performing general administrative tasks (ex: prepare letters, client communication pieces, etc.).
- Attending client events.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a wealth management or financial services environment is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software.
- Excellent organizational, time management and multitasking abilities.
- A high degree of professionalism, service mindset and respect for confidentiality.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- A degree or diploma in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 3-8 years’ financial services industry experience working in a high growth environment.
- 3+ years’ experience in a customer/client-service facing role.
- Experience in the wealth management or other regulated industry is a strong asset.
- CIRO licensing requirements, including completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH) as well as active registration as an Investment Representative (IR) or Registered Representative (RR) with Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) is a strong asset.
- A commitment to fulfilling Continuing Education (CE) requirements and ongoing learning.

Compensation & Benefits:
Range ($50,000.00 - $75,000.00)
The base salary represents Wellington-Altus's starting salary for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
Base salary is one component of Wellington-Altus's total compensation package for employees, which may include performance-based incentives, commissions, or discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards. Wellington-Altus also offers health insurance, accident and life insurance, and other unique benefits per location.
