The Estimator position is an important role in any Construction Management Company. You will be engaged in all aspects of the bid process working alongside the Estimating Team preparing detailed estimates on a variety of projects.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Read project specifications, drawings, reports included in tender documents.
- Work independently and with other estimators to produce preliminary estimates for proposed projects, divisional costing.
- Assist with and prepare the full on-screen quantity take-off of all labour, equipment, and materials as per project specifications.
- Receive, review, and enter sub trade and supplier pricing in a detailed and organized manner.
- Post sub trade and supplier bid invitations.
- Attend tender site meetings, deliver tenders and;
- Analyze tenders and work with project management to ensure adequate execution of subtrade contracts.
- Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors.
- Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, project owners, contractors, and subcontractors on adjustments to cost estimates.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Diploma (In related fields)
- Bachelor’s Degree (In related fields)
- 5 to 8 years’ experience in similar position required.
Desired Skills & Experience
· Experience with reading and interpreting large scale project drawings and bid specifications.
· Knowledge of construction industry standards and codes.
· Working under pressures
· People and communication skills
· Experience with Bluebeam, Plan swift, excel, Building Connected & Procore is an asset.
