Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team at our Vaughan location. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in managing patient health, assisting during surgical procedures, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects and effectiveness.
- Preparation and organization of clinic setting for success.
- Pre-op preparation of patients and surgical area.
- Surgical assist during procedures.
- Collection and preparation of laboratory specimens.
- Post-op care and dressing application.
- Handling, cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments.
- Deliver pain management strategies tailored to individual patient needs.
- Offer support and education to patients and their families regarding health conditions/procedure and treatment plans.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment with high attention to Infection Control and maintaining sterility.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ontario, in good standing with the CNO.
- Current CPR certification.
- Experience working in surgical environments is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in wound care and patient education.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and phlebotomy techniques.
- Experience in Medical Device Reprocessing favourable.
- Knowledge of pain management practices is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail working in a fast paced environment.
