Field Service Technician – Woodworking Machinery
SCM Group Canada is part of a global Italian manufacturer of woodworking machinery, supported by a Canadian team focused on responsive technical service and customer success.
We are looking for an Electrical / Mechanical Field Service Technician to install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial woodworking machinery at customer sites across Canada.
What you will do
- Assemble, install, set up, and commission woodworking machinery.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control-related machine issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance and replace defective or worn machine components.
- Deliver machine operation and maintenance training to customer operators and maintenance personnel.
- Complete detailed service reports using company systems and predefined documentation tools.
- Provide professional technical support and practical advice to customers.
- Travel to customer sites across Canada. Occasional travel to the United States or Italy may be required based on business needs and applicable travel eligibility.
What you bring
- Technical education or hands-on experience in industrial mechanics, electricity, electromechanics, automation, or a related field.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical diagrams.
- Strong English communication skills for technical reporting, safety documentation, customer training, and service communication.
- Practical troubleshooting ability and a safety-focused approach to field work.
- Strong customer-service mindset, reliability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal vehicle for regular travel to customer sites.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
What we offer
- Gross annual salary range of CAD $60,000 to $80,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
- $750 monthly vehicle allowance, plus company-paid fuel and eligible business expenses in accordance with the company expense policy.
