Internship Opportunity – Spring/Summer 2020
Are you looking for a meaningful internship where you can have an immediate impact on the SAIT campus?
BGIS is looking for innovative, new ideas that will help improve how we operate, maintain and support the SAIT campus. This internship is for you if you want to be a part of supporting SAIT’s learning environment, work with a highly skilled and passionate team here on campus and apply what you are learning in school to real life challenges.
This is not your typical internship!
You propose what you’re most passionate about and how it will help SAIT – we’ll provide the resources and mentorship to make it happen!
This is your internship so make it yours. We are looking for students to propose your own internship opportunity that takes what you know, your experience, what you want to learn from BGIS and apply that to a challenge or work project here at SAIT.
To apply, your internship application must include a cover letter defining the project or role as per the following:
Identify a problem or challenge with buildings on campus that you want to be part of solving
Define the resources and help you need from BGIS to be successful in your internship
Let us know your availability – internships will be offered for 2 to 4 months pending your schedule, with part time to full time options
Look at how your educational program, capstone project ideas and/or passion can be applied to how we operate and maintain the SAIT campus
We will review candidates based on your knowledge and skills, as well as how your proposed internship can provide innovative ways to help our facilities management team operate and maintain the campus.

As the facilities manager for campus, we operate and maintain SAIT’s buildings. We are always looking for how we can innovate and improve SAIT including:
How we can most effectively operate and maintain HVAC and building control systems
Cost effectively manage vendor contracts for cleaning, snow, landscaping, and multiple other business functions on campus while providing the best value to SAIT
Leverage data to coordinate, prioritize, and manage workflow for site operations
Our BGIS team on campus includes business managers, maintenance technicians and leads, building control systems experts – a team passionate about what we do and available to help mentor students.
