In support of our capital programs/projects and continued growth, Comtech is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Maintenance Supervisor.


  • Manage daily maintenance associated activities to ensure production support, PM completion, rebuild activities, safety improvements, Kaizen/ACE implementation, training, etc.
  • Assign maintenance manpower, as well as attend and lead major breakdown activities to determine root case and effective countermeasures, and maintain safe and effective recovery
  • Document any actual breakdowns and follow-up resolutions to ensure completion targets are met
  • Complete and follow up on all PSRs; coordinate weekend plans, shutdown plans, projects, work orders and all associated administrative planning
  • Lead and participate in Kaizen activities in any key objectives
  • Administer company policy, and collective agreement
  • Schedule vacation within established guidelines, manage payroll for maintenance associates
  • Prioritize Preventative Maintenance (PM) program, and audit PM delivery to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Review project preparation including work orders; hold stakeholders accountable for planning deliverables
  • Engage maintenance associates in preparation phase, as well as develop maintenance associate skills through On-The-Job-Training, assignment, direction & classroom training
  • Perform other duties as required


  • Must possess 1+ years of supervisory experience
  • College Diploma/ University Degree an asset (Minimum High School Diploma or GED)
  • Experience supervising a multi-trade workforce in a manufacturing environment considered a strong asset
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of Paint shop equipment and facilities
  • Knowledge of automotive manufacturing process and understanding of conveyance systems, HVAC, fluid delivery, PLC controls, robotic systems and electrical principle
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies, as well as understanding of maintenance systems
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Knowledge of and ability to ensure a safe industrial work environment
