Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating excavators with a strong understanding of construction site safety and mechanical systems. This role involves operating various types of machinery to support excavation, water, sewer and septic installation and other heavy-duty construction tasks. Candidates should possess excellent mechanical knowledge and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position is located in Grande Prairie, AB.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators safely and efficiently on construction sites for excavation, trenching, and material handling.
- Use excavators and other heavy machinery as needed to support project requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with excavation of new basements, water, sewer and septic installations.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage and maintenance activities.
Experience
- Proven experience operating excavators in a construction setting is required.
- Knowledge of excavator and skid steer processes is highly advantageous.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation in commercial and residential projects is a plus.
- Valid commercial driver’s license is preferred for transporting equipment between sites.
- Prior work involving construction sites that require adherence to safety standards and environmental regulations is ideal. This role requires a dedicated professional committed to quality workmanship and safety standards in the construction industry.
Pay: $24.96-$42.50 per hour

- Grande Prairie, AB T8V 7H9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Excavator: 4 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Class 5 Licence (preferred)
