LN Land Development Technologies is looking for an experienced Construction Surveyor to join our Fort McMurray team .
You'll support major industrial and heavy civil construction projects , providing accurate field survey information and working closely with project managers, supervisors, and construction crews to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Perform construction layout for civil, structural, mechanical, earthworks, and other construction activities
Complete topographic, as-built, grade verification, and quantity surveys
Establish, verify, and maintain survey control
Operate Trimble GPS/GNSS, Robotic Total Stations, digital levels, and other survey equipment
Collect accurate field data and maintain detailed survey notes and documentation
Interpret engineering drawings, construction plans, specifications, and project information
Complete field calculations and quality control checks to verify survey accuracy
Identify and troubleshoot discrepancies or field issues before they impact construction
Coordinate survey activities with project managers, supervisors, contractors, and construction crews
Maintain survey equipment and ensure proper care and calibration
Complete required field-level hazard assessments and safety documentation
Follow all company, client, and site-specific safety requirements
Maintain LN's standards for safety, accuracy, quality, and productivity
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
2+ years of construction surveying experience preferred
Experience working on industrial, mining, heavy civil, municipal, or large-scale construction projects
Strong construction layout and field surveying experience
Proficiency with Trimble GPS/GNSS and Robotic Total Station equipment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, construction plans, and specifications
Strong understanding of survey calculations, control, and construction tolerances
Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, high-quality work
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and active construction environments
Ability to work 7 on / 7 days off and extended shifts as required
Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract
Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and meet applicable client/site access requirements
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada on a permanent basis
ASSETS
Ground Disturbance Level II
Experience with Trimble Access and Trimble Business Center
Diploma or post-secondary education in Geomatics, Surveying, or a related field
Previous oil sands, mining, or industrial site experience
Additional construction or industry safety certifications
