Underground Hard Rock Mines Service Type Common Core Trainer (Part-time)
Reporting to the Director, Underground Centre, the Trainer will be responsible for training students in the Underground Hard Rock Mines Service Type Common Core MLITSD program #770225 modules. This program typically runs 2 times per week. The Trainer will work with trainees instructing them on the many procedures and safety concepts of working in a service position in the underground environment. The emphasis of the training delivery method will be lecture and practical hands-on training.
Responsibilities:
Lead a group of trainees and instruct them on the many procedures and safety concepts of working in a service position in the underground environment. Ensure delivery of training complies with Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) standards as outlined in the standards booklet for each training module to be delivered.
- Ensure adherence to NORCAT safety policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to NORCAT safety policies and procedures.
- Provide support and/or administer select training and development programs as needed.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the Director, Underground Centre.
Qualifications:
- Must be certified in Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core MLITSD program #770225 (please submit official transcripts for review).
- A certificate in the ‘Train the Trainer’ program would be an asset.
- Strong leadership, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
