Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist to join our veterinary team. This role is great for someone who enjoys working with animals while providing excellent client care. Responsibilities
- Greet clients warmly and intake patients into rooms
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness of the clinic
- Collect and process laboratory samples, performing basic lab tests when necessary
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient files
- Provide support with animal restraint during examinations or procedures
- Manage phone inquiries, answer questions, and communicate appointment details effectively
- Handle administrative tasks such as billing, invoicing, and inventory management
- Educate pet owners on post-treatment care and preventive health measures
- Ensure the clinic environment adheres to safety and hygiene standards
- Answer phone calls and book clients in
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills with an empathetic approach toward clients and animals
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine is advantageous
- Must be organized, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving clinic needs
- Certification or training in veterinary assisting is beneficial but not mandatory

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
