Job Summary
As a Financial Consultant, you will be responsible for all financial aspects of SR&ED claims and other programs an MCN client may be applying for. You will be working in a team led by an Account Manager and will coordinate your work with other members of your team. We are looking for a professional person capable of working independently and handling multiple projects with firm deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Assuming full responsibility for all the financial aspects of MCN’s consulting engagements with clients.
- Liaising with client executives, accountants and bookkeepers; identifying eligible expenditures and preparing costing summaries for inclusion in a client’s tax credit claims; analyze and prepare documentation of a financial nature as may be required during the term of MCN engagement with the client.
- Assisting with analysis of client's business processes, financial practices and corporate structure to help clients to optimize them in order to ensure compliance with tax reporting requirements as well as to maximize the client's return.
- Interfacing with the CRA on filing statuses and other issues, respond to the CRA’s requests for information and assisting through the claim review process.

- Strong financial background and good knowledge of accounting/costing principles

- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with other MS Office software
- Ability to work in a highly autonomous environment with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills (in-person and over the phone)
- Ability to work independently and simultaneously handle multiple projects with firm deadlines
- Familiarity with tax software such as iFirm, Taxprep, TaxCycle, Profile, Cantax is an asset
- Prior experience in corporate tax preparation, SR&ED tax credit claims preparation, bookkeeping and accounting is an asset
- University degree in accounting and taxation, finance or similar is required
- Curiosity and interest in technology
Compensation
This is a full-time engagement. Compensation commensurate to experience.
