Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Coordinator to join our team in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. This role involves planning, organizing, and facilitating engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of seniors and individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a diverse calendar of recreational activities, events, and programs that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and physical activity.
- Adapt activities to accommodate residents with varying abilities including those with mild cognitive impairments.
- Assess individual needs and preferences to personalize activity plans.
- Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, games, outings, and special celebrations.
- Encourage resident participation while respecting individual choices and limitations.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity feedback.
- Ensure all activities are conducted safely, following health guidelines and safety protocols.
- Foster an inclusive environment that promotes dignity, independence, and joy among residents.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred.
- Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is advantageous.
- Knowledge of dementia care techniques and caregiving best practices is desirable.
- Strong communication skills are essential for engaging residents effectively and collaborating with team members.
- A compassionate attitude combined with creativity and organizational skills will contribute to success in this role.
