As a Criminal Fingerprint Technician you will follow processes necessary to establish the identity of persons under arrest (non-detained). Specific duties include:
Obtain fingerprints, palm prints, mug shot photographs and descriptive information of all persons charged for the purpose of identity of the individuals.
Administrative duties such as filing, updating criminal booking files and provide front counter customer service.
Collect DNA samples from individuals convicted.
Distribute criminal records to the court system.
Regular exposure to health risks, bodily fluids, profanity, rudeness and physical altercations.

High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED) plus a minimum of 1 year experience in a police environment.
Previous experience with Sentry, Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), Justice On-line Information Network (JOIN) and other police information systems.
Must be eligible to obtain Community Peace Officer status under the Alberta Police Act.

An enhanced security clearance will be conducted for this position.

Compensation: Pay Grade 6 $29.35 - 39.24 per hour
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
