We are seeking an organized, motivated, and experienced Dental Office Manager to lead our dental team and ensure the smooth operation of our practice.
Position Summary
The Dental Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the dental office. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to support staff, enhance patient experiences, and maintain efficient office operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily office operations and ensure efficient workflow.
- Supervise, train, and support administrative and front-desk staff.
- Coordinate scheduling for patients and providers to maximize productivity.
- Oversee patient accounts, billing, insurance claims, and collections.
- Monitor office budgets, expenses, and financial reporting.
- Maintain compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, privacy requirements, and office policies.
- Address patient concerns and resolve service issues professionally.
- Manage inventory and coordinate ordering of office supplies.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of team members.
- Develop and implement procedures to improve operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Collaborate with dentists and clinical staff to achieve practice goals.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of dental office management experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of dental billing, insurance processing, and treatment coordination.
- Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Tracker, Open Dental, Cleardent, or similar).
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office technology.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of provincial/state healthcare privacy regulations and workplace compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field helpful
- Experience managing staff performance and office financial metrics.
- Familiarity with dental KPIs, scheduling optimization, and practice growth initiatives.
- Dental experience and knowledge of procedures an asset
