Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary and hospitality team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for food service excellence. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring food safety standards, and providing exceptional service to our guests. The sous chef will serve as a key team member, fostering a positive work environment and maintaining high-quality food preparation and service standards.
Duties
- Coordinate and help accomplish the daily activities of the restaurant staff, including food preparation, serving, and cleaning
- Assist in food handling procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
- Manage kitchen operations with the chef, including cooking, food presentation, and ensuring timely service
- Assist efforts by training, mentoring, and evaluating staff performance
- Ensure adherence to food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant
- Assist in menu planning and food preparation to meet customer expectations
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement of ingredients
- Foster a welcoming environment for guests by providing excellent customer service and resolving any issues promptly
- Collaborate with management to implement operational improvements and enhance overall guest experience
Requirements
- Proven experience in a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within the food industry or hospitality sector
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work as a team effectively
- Extensive restaurant experience, including kitchen operations and food safety compliance
- Excellent communication and serving skills to ensure guest satisfaction
- Knowledge of restaurant procedures, food safety standards, and hospitality best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior experience in restaurant or kitchen management is highly preferred
