The Opportunity
Brymark Installations Inc. is seeking an experienced Onsite Safety Lead to support an exciting project.
This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who is passionate about creating safe work environments, leading by example in the field, and partnering with operations teams to ensure every worker goes home safely at the end of the day. As a key member of the project team, you will play a critical role in strengthening our safety culture and supporting the successful execution of complex industrial construction projects.
This is a project-based, fixed-term position
About the Role
The Onsite Safety Lead is a vital member of the project leadership team and is responsible for promoting, implementing, and continuously improving health and safety performance across the project site. This individual provides hands-on safety leadership, supports frontline workers and supervisors, and ensures compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will be a visible presence in the field, proactively identifying hazards, coaching workers, and fostering a culture where safety is integrated into every aspect of the work.
Your leadership will directly contribute to protecting our people, preventing incidents, and ensuring project success.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

Lead and promote safety excellence across all site activities
- Maintain safety records, documentation, reports, and incident statistics
- Conduct site inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and field observations
- Facilitate worker orientations, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions
- Provide coaching and mentorship to employees, supervisors, and subcontractors on safe work practices
- Monitor compliance with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards
- Participate in planning activities to identify and mitigate risks before work begins
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action follow-up
- Track and communicate safety performance metrics to project leadership
- Support the implementation of Brymark's Health & Safety Management System
- Collaborate with project teams to develop practical solutions to safety challenges
- Actively participate in hazard identification and continuous improvement initiatives
- Stop work when unsafe conditions or behaviours pose a risk to personnel, equipment, or the environment
Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 8 years of health and safety experience in industrial construction, mechanical installations, fabrication, energy, or heavy industrial environments
- Strong understanding of British Columbia occupational health and safety legislation and industry best practices
- Demonstrated experience conducting investigations, inspections, and risk assessments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage workers at all levels
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital safety management systems
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Skills & Attributes That Set You Apart

Professional safety designation such as CRSP, CSO, NCSO, CHSC, CSS, CIH, or ROH is considered an asset
- Occupational First Aid Level 3 certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with BCCSA COR certification programs and auditing processes
- Previous experience supporting industrial mechanical, piping, fabrication, or maintenance projects
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to positively influence site culture
- High ethical standards and commitment to worker well-being
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach and sound professional judgment
- Strong analytical, investigation, and reporting skills
- Ability to build trusted relationships with workers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
