Our plastic bag manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Plastic Extrusion and Bagging Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Scarborough, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating blown film extrusion and bagging equipment used in the production of plastic garbage bags. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to quality, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate blown film extrusion and bagging machines safely and efficiently.
- Set up and adjust machine settings to maintain product specifications and production targets.
- Monitor film quality, thickness, width, and bag dimensions throughout production.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and make necessary adjustments to minimize downtime.
- Perform product quality inspections and document production results.
- Change materials, rolls, and packaging supplies as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards.
- Assist with routine maintenance and report equipment concerns to management.
- Follow all company safety policies, operating procedures, and quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and production staff to achieve daily production goals.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience operating plastic extrusion equipment is required.
- Experience with blown film extrusion or plastic bag manufacturing is required
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Forklift experience is considered an asset.
